1. Start from a small workshop

At the beginning of the 21st century, Rainfaun was just a small family workshop. We built a high wall around our courtyard and put a shed on it, turning the yard into a simple workshop. We bought three injection molding machines and other equipment and started our business journey.

At first, we only produced drippers and micro sprinklers for irrigation, mainly supplying large factories in China. For those products that factories don’t have themselves, they usually look for third parties to help them produce them, and we are one of them.

At that time, our company was small, even simple, just like when Jobs started his business in his garage, and was not taken seriously by others. This is our disadvantage, and we know it well. Therefore, we realized that we must do better in other aspects to improve our competitiveness and defeat our competitors (usually other small workshops).

2. Build competitiveness

We set our goal on improving the quality stability of our products. This goal was not decided on a whim. We investigated the products of other small workshops and concluded that their biggest problem was unstable product quality, ນັ້ນແມ່ນ, sometimes the products they produced were very good, and sometimes the yield rate of the products they produced was very low.

Many factors affect the stability of product quality, such as raw materials, process flow, equipment, environment, workers’ technical ability, ປົງຄາຍ. We started from all aspects and worked hard to reform. In the end, the yield rate of our products increased a lot, which became our biggest advantage in the early stage of entrepreneurship.

In the next few years, more and more factories gradually cooperated with us, we opened up more production lines, and our product series became more and more abundant. ແນ່ນອນ, our passion and belief in wanting to expand also became bigger.

3. From small workshop to manufacturer

We are not satisfied with supplying factories as a third party. Those factories sell products to customers all over the world, but some of them are actually produced by us. We seem to have become the shadow of large factories, and we can only work hard in the dark forever, and we can never get on the stage. We realized that if we want the company to go further, we must build our own brand and face customers directly like those large manufacturers!

In this context, we set up a foreign trade department. The main responsibility of the foreign trade department is to develop and serve customers all over the world. Our goal is to gradually break away from the control of large manufacturers and become a real manufacturer that can directly supply customers!

With the efforts of the foreign trade department, we gradually received orders from several customers in the Middle East and South America. After several cooperations, these customers became our stable partners (thanks to their trust and perseverance). Later, the number of customers gradually increased, and they were mainly local importers, wholesalers, and brand owners. As a manufacturer, we produce and export products for them, and sometimes we also OEM and customize according to their requirements. After a few years, we encountered another opportunity.

4. Discover a new opportunity

We found that among the customers who inquired, there would be some customers who needed us to provide solutions. ເປັນຕົວຢ່າງ, a farmer from the United States wanted us to build a complete irrigation system for his farm.

We realized that the role of traditional manufacturers can no longer meet the needs of the market and customers. Any manufacturer can produce products on an assembly line, but if a systematic solution needs to be provided, it is a challenge to the manufacturer’s capabilities.

We have hired professional designers, engineers, and other experts in the agricultural field. Their main responsibility is to customize solutions for customers in different application scenarios. ເປັນຕົວຢ່າງ, the use of intelligent water-saving irrigation systems in farmland, irrigation solutions in arid areas, and the application of intelligent irrigation systems in grape plantations.

Nowadays, our team also cooperates with universities to study topics related to agriculture.

5. Planning for the future

At present, Rainfaun is not only a product manufacturer and supplier, but also a professional solution designer and provider. Our plan for the future is to continue to make good products and provide efficient and scientific solutions for customers on the one hand, and to continuously explore new agricultural-related fields and businesses on the other hand, and contribute to the development of global agriculture.

We want to make Rainfaun a respected company, and we want to create a household brand in the agricultural field. Admittedly, we are still a small player in front of truly world-class companies, but we feel that we need a grand goal that can motivate us to keep moving forward and strive to do better.

Maybe, in the future, we can also grow wheat, rice, and grapes on Mars. It’s cool to think about it.
