PVC foot valves are relatively simple in structure, mainly consisting of valve seat and valve flap. They are usually installed at the pipe port at the water source (such as the water inlet of a water pump). When the water pump stops working, they can prevent the water in the system from flowing back, thereby protecting the water pump from damage. Their working principle is very simple. They mainly use gravity or spring devices to maintain the direction of water flow. When the water flow direction is correct, the valve flap opens, and when the water flow direction is wrong, the valve flap closes. PVC foot valves also have a structure similar to a mesh fence, which can filter some larger impurities in the water.
Compared with foot valves, PVC check valves are more complex in structure, have more styles, and are more flexible in installation location. They can be installed anywhere in the pipe system where water backflow needs to be prevented, thereby ensuring that water can only flow in one direction.
